Requirements for the Frog Prince project involved taking one key moment from the classic fairytale and reworking it into a single illustration. This illustration was to be done in the style of a well-known illustrator; I opted to mimic the style of sci-fi artists Jean “Mœbius” Giraud. In addition, no text was allowed for the completed work. The pencil-and-paper process began with 20 storyboards to explore composition, of which three were moved forward with to further explore. Of these three, one final option was selected for its emotional depth and framing choices. This final composition shows when the Princess in the Frog Prince drops her golden ball down the well, moments before her life will change forever.
