Many of my design processes begin by first exploring traditional mediums, and Blueberry was no different. I began the creative process for this font through an exploration of traditional calligraphic techniques, which would provide a base for the final font. Learning the foundations of calligraphic helped me to understand underlying patterns in serif forms, and helped to inspire a more cohesive font in the end. Blueberry itself is made for body-copy text, and provides a more modern take on a traditional serif form. The familiar and cozy feeling of the Blueberry font lends itself to recipe cards and books.
